Subscriber self-service is how customers resolve subscription issues without calling the merchant. It is part of the Subscription OS, not a separate payment app. Secure links let a subscriber pay now, update a mandate, pause or cancel according to plan policy.
Subscriber portal
Subscribers enter through a short-lived, single-use magic link from a nudge or receipt, with no password to remember. The portal shows subscriptions, the next charge, payment history and available actions. Full bank details are never displayed.
Depending on plan policy, a subscriber can:
- Update a payment method or re-authorise a mandate.
- Pause and resume a subscription.
- Cancel at the end of the paid period.
- Review past payments and subscription state.
Pay-now experience
A nudge can open a single-purpose pay-now page showing the amount, what it is for and one primary action. The method adapts to the subscriber's country. The experience is designed for slow mobile connections and includes a no-JavaScript fallback for account-payment instructions.
Mandate re-authorisation
When a mandate expires or reaches its authorised ceiling, the portal explains why a new authorisation is required and runs the standard checkout flow. The replacement mandate attaches to the existing subscription so its history remains intact.
Frequently asked questions
How do subscribers open self-service?
They use a short-lived magic link from a nudge or receipt. There is no password to remember.
Can a subscriber change payment details without creating a new subscription?
Yes. Re-authorising a mandate attaches the new authorisation to the existing subscription and keeps its history.
